(Maricopa) Sixth Grade Students from the Maricopa Wells Middle School Blended Learning program presented their Future Maricopa models to the Mayor and City Council on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018. Following a quarter long school project, the top six teams had an opportunity to celebrate their success before Council Members, families, and friends.

Future Cities, a nation-wide engineering competition, is a flagship project in the MUSD blended learning program. Future Maricopa was a scaled version unique to sixth graders where students identified an aging-related challenge and engineered an innovative solution for the future of Maricopa in 50-100 years.

The students who presented were Sarah Ashor, Jessica Bailin, Siera Bazzel, Jayda Brasfield, JoAnn Coronado, Bella Cox, Amyah Clark, Kylie Davis, Cooper Krigbaum, Caleb Lewis, Maverick McDonald, Emily Peters, Marley Polosky, Samantha Ponce, Callie Pulieo, Allison Rice, Colton Richardson, Natalie Rodriguez, Gracie Rogers, Chelsey Sholes, and Mya Tarcola.

The teachers and staff of Maricopa Wells Middle School would like to thank the Maricopa City Council and Mayor Price for making time for our students to present in the council room at City Hall.
